Women in Construction
A big part of my role as a Marketing and Communications Partner is what my title says, partner working. Two of these partners are Stockport Homes Group's construction arm Three Sixty and a company that works in partnership with them, B4Box.
B4Box had 4 open entry level positions (for young people between 18 and 24 on Universal Credit) in construction and realising that the industry is still male dominated, they were keen on getting applications from young women.
Together with B4Box and DWP (Department for Work and Pensions who funded the programme) and our employment team, I designed and executed a marketing campaign to attract young women into construction industry. The campaign included getting 5 real-life stories from women who already work in the industry. These were recorded as videos and social media campaign to promote an open event for young people to attend and show their interest.
The campaign's first parts were successful in attracting a lot of interest (even tight timescales with recruitment). Now B4Box has a long list of candidates who are going to the next stage of assessment days and soon starting their career in construction.
